FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about distributing with The American Record Music.

How long does it take for my music to go live?

It typically takes 2-5 business days for your music to appear on major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. We recommend uploading at least 2 weeks in advance to allow time for playlist pitching.

Do I keep 100% of my master rights?

Yes, absolutely. You retain 100% ownership of your masters and publishing rights. We only act as your distribution partner to help you reach a global audience.

How are royalties split?

We offer a transparent 70/30 revenue split. You keep 70% of all earnings generated from streams, downloads, and Content ID, with no hidden annual maintenance fees per track.

Are UPC and ISRC codes provided for free?

Yes, we provide free UPC and ISRC codes for all your releases automatically during the upload process. You will never be charged extra for codes.

Can I release cover songs?

Yes, you can distribute cover songs through our platform. However, you are responsible for securing the appropriate mechanical licenses required for legal distribution before uploading.

What is YouTube Content ID and how does it work?

YouTube Content ID is a system that scans YouTube for videos using your music. When a match is found, we claim it on your behalf, allowing you to monetize user-generated content across the platform.

Can I get my music on Indian telecom networks like Jio and Airtel?

Yes! We directly distribute your tracks as caller tunes (CRBT) on major telecom networks like Jio, Airtel, and Vi, expanding your reach to millions of mobile users.

How often do I get paid?

Royalties are typically reported and paid out on a quarterly basis, generally 45-60 days after the end of the quarter in which they were earned, depending on DSP reporting timelines.

What happens if I want to switch distributors or leave?

You can issue a takedown request at any time. Takedown charges are 200 per song. Your music will be removed from stores, and you are completely free to distribute it elsewhere. We do not lock you into restrictive contracts.

Do you help with Vevo channel creation?

Yes, we can request and set up an Official Vevo Channel for you to distribute your premium music videos globally to platforms like Apple Music, Tidal, and connected TVs.

How do I contact support if I have an issue?

Our dedicated human support team is available via email, WhatsApp, and phone to assist you. You get real help from a dedicated account manager, not just automated bots.
